Meeting Minutes for Aug 14, 2017

7:00pm – Board of Directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the list of issues that were discussed:

7:30pm – Meeting was called to order – Pledge of Allegiance & Conservation pledge

Introduction of Officers: Stephen Gustkey- Pistol, Mike Cumberland-President, Jim Hacke- Secretary, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, Mike Ripley- Jr. Rifle/Black Powder, Tom Horstman- Trap

Treasurer’s Report: Steve read treasurer’s report in John’s absence.

Bills and Communications: Made final payment for hall floor refinishing. Paid to have oil tank filled up for the winter. Fall taxes will be paid.

Pop: Steve didn’t have anything to turn in due to replenishing supply.

Rental Committee Report: Hall is rented out on August 19th, 25th, 26th, 27th.

Pistol Team: The pistol team will competed in the State Championship Bulls Eye Match on August on the 11th, 12th, 13th. Said there was a nice turn out of about 39 shooters. Final standing yet to come. The pistol team shoots on Thursdays from 5 PM till dark on the outdoor range. $2 a night or $20 for all summer. 22 cal. & Center fire 32, 38, & 45 cal. All welcome to come practice.

Trap Team: Tom turned in $242.75 from the county league and trap practice combined. Trap range open every Tuesday evening starting at 5pm for practicing. $3.50 per 25 targets. Open to general public, club members, and new shooters.

Black Powder: Rendezvous is coming up on September 3rd & 4th open to the public between the hours of 10 AM and 5 PM. The kitchen will be open and so Steve Gustkey will be looking for volunteers to help prepare food. All help is appreciated for any amount of time. Remember that the Meat Shoots start at 11:00 am now.

Junior Rifle Team: Mike turned in $29 and kept $13. Mike announced that the juniors had a great time at Camp Perry this year and that the youth shooters shot well. Congratulations went to McKayla Ripley for winning the national championship in her division. Also a special thanks to Tom

Fischer for donating an end of season pizza party for the junior shooters. Junior rifle will resume shooting in 2 separate groups. Advanced shooters on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month and beginners on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Shooting begins at 6:30pm and runs till 8:00pm. Any adults willing to help are appreciated. Junior rifle will start up again soon.

Archery: Still looking for any members willing to join together to make a team to practice.

Fun Indoor Shoot: They will be shooting every Monday @ 1pm starting in September. Everyone is welcome. Open sights with .22 caliber rifles from a rested position. Closest to bulls eye wins prize.

Membership: Brian read new memberships and collected $225 of which $25 to maintenance fund and $200 to general fund, $60 from key cards. He reported 98 new members for 2017 which brings total of 447 Sr, Life and Charter members. Total membership is 624.

Old Business: Steve Gustkey is still looking for any help that can be given to work in the kitchen during the Rendezvous. Please contact him even if you would be willing to help for an hour or four or entire event. Special thanks goes to Nick one of the club’s newest members who volunteered his time to apply a couple coats of wax to the newly tiled floor. Another special thanks goes to Tom Fischer for adding more dirt to the rifle range back stop.

New Business: No new business to report this month.
